DIEGO GROISO IS A WELL KNOWN SCALE AGILE COACH, TRAINER WITH EXCELLENT REPUTATION AND EXPERIMENTED RELEASE TRAIN ENGINEER.
01. Scale Agile Coach.
Diego introduced SAFe in Vodafone, making Programme EVE – the first large Digital Business Transformation programme in Vodafone Group Enterprise to adopt Agile – a complete success.
It was labelled “The most successful programme in Vodafone ever” by the senior leadership and winner of IDC’s “Digital Transformer of the year 2017 award”.
Diego launched a second Agile Release Train for the Strategic Inventory Programme and coached two future Release Train Engineers.
02. Release Train engineer
Diego was the Release Train Engineer for several Agile Release Trains (ART), each with its own characteristics.
Programme EVE’s had about 150 people organized in 6 Feature teams (Fully cross-functional teams, where each team was able to deliver value independently of the others), where we implemented most of the SAFe ceremonies and recruited the right-minded people and trained everyone.
Inventory Programme had about 60 people, all focused on delivering a better Service Inventory. Although the teams were mostly split by the sequence step they were undertaking, the SAFe practises helped coordinate the end of end flow of value.
Oxford University Press’ ART was an aggregation of 10 small teams reaching 100 people. Although not many dependencies existed among them, SAFe practices helped management coordinate planning, dependencies with external teams, reporting and most importantly provide a quick escalation point to remove impediments.
03. Trainer
He delivered more than 15 “Leading safe” trainings to circa 200 people for Vodafone employees all across Europe. Word spread out very quickly and the waiting list kept growing in such a way, that he had booked the next 9 months of courses in advance. The attendee list ranged from 10 to 40 people per course. He was then invited to give trainings in Dublin, Bucharest and Istanbul. Feedback from all of the courses was great, asking him to come back as soon as possible.
04. Multi-Lingual
Diego is Bi-lingual and can coach and deliver trainings in English and in Spanish.
05. Telecoms
Diego has more than 20 years of experience in the Telecom industry in Argentina, UK, USA and Italy and across different roles such as Product Manager, Network Engineer, Portfolio Manager, Development Manager. He also has an MBA from U.C. Berkeley, is an Electronic Engineer and extensive experience in the corporate world, providing him an excellent understanding of the complexities surrounding the delivery of value in these environments.

He is a dedicated, self motivated and forward thinking person. He was our RTE. It was fun working with him at Vodafone. He was very instrumental and he has great expertise in Agile and SAFe Coaching. Most importantly he always remains calm and constructive under pressure.He motivated each member of the program and guided Scrum Masters to adapt SAFe . He is very honest, straight forward and doesn’t go around the bushes to communicate any relevant fact. Diego was fundamental in Vodafone’s Agile Transformation, playing the role of an Agile Coach, Trainer and RTE. He introduced and evangelized SAFe across Vodafone and quickly gained internal recognition as the SAFe/Agile expert. He successfully coached at the team and Enterprise levels, including senior leaders. His training quickly became one of Agile’s most sought after courses across Vodafone Europe. As an RTE he was the maestro for an effective agile delivery model and therefore a successful transformation.
I’ve worked with Diego creating an Agile Software Factory@Level 3, and he’s always impressed me with his professionalism, his attention to detail and the way that he maintained leadership: he was always firm but open to any query or argument. As a result, he was highly regarded by both the board and the people who reported to him, an estimation which I concurr. He is highly recommended.
Diego has been working with us at Oxford University Press as a Release Train Engineer, but also supporting our Scaled Agile Transformation. Diego has impressed with his coaching abilities, which he has deployed to good effect to help some of our business areas to adopt agile techniques. Diego always asks challenging questions and is keen to improve his client’s agile abilities and mindset. Diego is going to be leaving us soon, and we wish him all the best with his future endeavours, and I’m sure our paths will cross again soon.
Diego assisted us when working on a large complex programme of work using SAFe Agile to deliver key outcomes. He was deployed at several stages within the delivery when his expertise was most welcome (and needed). Aside from being very diplomatic, Diego demonstrated high levels of expertise in providing advice and guidance to team members when navigating through solving difficult problems using Agile concepts and tools. I enjoyed having Diego’s input and would welcome working with him in the future.
Diego does not only bring valuable knowledge to your organisation but an abundance of energy. As he is always hungry for innovation – doing things better – this drive both him and powers the environment around him to get through the struggles of transformation.
