Agile Change Agent and RTE for Inventory Programme at Group Enterprise

The goal of the Strategic Inventory programme was to create a single Inventory of record for Vodafone Group Enterprise. Mainly reading and extracting data with Talend from a myriad of systems, inventories and spreadsheets, correlating it all together and storing it into a single new CMDB in ServiceNow. Also, to establish new processes to capture future data to ensure the data did not get out of date immediately.

The project was started as a Waterfall project and had just passed Gate 2 (effectively receiving the budget to start developing) when I was asked to join in as Release Train Engineer and Change Agent, to transform it into an Agile project.

I trained everyone in leading SAFe, about 60 people. Then Coached the leadership team into the SAFe principles and the new way of working. Coached the teams into Agile best practices. Identified the people who did not have the right mindset to make this transformation successful and most importantly re-structured all of the teams and the way they interacted with each other to ensure a constant flow of valuable work across the whole programme.

Alongside this work, I mentored a Project Manager to become a Release Train Engineer, who later took over as RTE when I left.
